Jngle Safari

On the southern plains of Nepal, find some of the finest wildlife and national parks in Asia. Namely Bardia and Chitwan are famous spots to discover the jungles and grasslands, surrounded by a Nepal, which often is less known. Among tribes such as the Tharu, look out for the Royal Bengal Tiger, the one horned Rhino, monkeys, spotted dears and leopards!



Royal Chitwan National Park,

Jungle Safari In ChitwanNepal's first and most famous national park is situated in the middle of the Chitwan region. Covering an area of 932 sq. km. Royal Chitwan National Park is located in the subtropical lowlands and consists of sal forests, tall grassland, hills, ox-bow lakes and flood plains. Over 50 species of mammals, 55 species of amphibians and reptiles and 525 species of birds are found here. Animals include the one horned rhino, Bengal tiger, gaur, wild elephant, antelope, striped hyena, pangolin, gharial crocodile and the Gangetic dolphin. Cobras, kraits and pythons are also found here. There are many other villages adjoining the park. In a clear day it can be seen peaks like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu and Himalchuli.

Access:

The park headquarters at Kasara is a 21 km. drive from Bharatpur which is 30 minutes by air or 146 km. by road form Kathmandu.

Oct - Feb ( average temperature 25 degree Celsius), Mar - June ( hot up to 43 degrees), Jul - Sep ( rainy)

 


Royal Bardia National Park ,

Jungle Safari In BardiaRoyal Bardia National Park is the largest and most undisturbed wilderness area in the Terai lowlands. It consists of sal forests and tall grassland. It is a regenerated habitat for endangered species like the rhinoceros, tiger, wild elephant, swamp deer, black buck, gharial crocodile and Gangetic dolphin. Here also cobras and pythons are found. Endangered birds includes the Bengal florican, lesser florican, silver-eared mesia and Sarus crane. The local people are mainly Tharus.

531 km. by road from Kathmandu or three hours by jeep (95 km.) from Nepalgunj which is 1 hour 10 minutes by air.
